He began his legal career as a trial attorney with the Committee for Public Counsel Services in Roxbury, Massachusetts, where he represented indigent juvenile and adult clients in major felony cases and argued before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. Throughout his career, Gregory has been a dedicated legal educator, teaching courses in professional responsibility, legal writing, and investigative techniques across multiple DOJ divisions and statewide bar programs.
